Time flies...

Well, I have nothing really exciting to report. Dan and I have finally found some time to sort of relax. We did nothing last weekend, which felt really good. This weekend is my big fundraiser for work and I'm praying that it will go off without any problems. I'm a nervous wreck when it comes to that kind of stuff.
Dan and I have had two weeks of Sunday school with middle school and high school boys. You must be wondering what that is like? Well, it is very interesting, to say the very least. We both have enjoyed it so far, but it is just so different for me to work with boys because they do not enjoy the emotional aspect of life near as much as I do. Good thing I don't mind making a fool of myself, right? Dan does a good job with the boys and I realize how much I respect him as a teacher (and a person), dealing with kids every day. I definitely could not do it.
My first baby shower is coming up in a little over a week and I am so excited not just to get cute little presents for my baby, but to see so many people that I have not been able to since we've movd to Phillipsburg. I just love my friends and my family and can't wait to spend even just a few hours with them on the 27th. At that time I will have just 7 weeks until Baby Girl Barnes is due to arrive. And I keep reminding her if she chooses to arrive a week early, we are not opposed to that! Well, that's all for now friends. Next update will have fun pictures from my baby shower.

What we've been up to

Dan and I have been pretty busy these last couple of weeks. But we've been having a great time with family and friends. My parents came to P-burg this weekend to visit and they helped get the baby's room started. I didn't post pictures of that, because I want to wait until it's all done. But we did get it all cleaned out, got the carpet cleaned, and my dad, my mom, and Dan painted the crib and the changing table a beautiful white. They are so cute!
My parents are so funny. We had such a great time with them and I was sad to see them go this morning. Love you guys!

These couple of pictures are from last weekend at Adam and Lindsey's house. We had a great Labor Day weekend with them, relaxing, laughing, and just hanging out. Their baby girl is due October 10, so we won't get to see each other for a while and when we do, they're going to be a little distracted, as they should be!

Happy 25th birthday to me! Dan and I celebrated my 25th birthday this past week and it was fabulous! It really could not have been a better day. Dan made me a wonderful birthday dinner and then a delicious cake!
Here's my profile at almost 30 weeks! Today, there are 9 weeks and 6 days to go. Can you believe it?
These last pictures are of our 4D ultrasound we had last Thursday. The baby was sort of cooperative, but not entirely. So if you think her eyes look kind of freaky, it's just because she was not in a good position to capture what her eyes look like. She will, of course, look so much cuter in our arms in less than 10 weeks! These are just a couple of the ones that turned out really good.
Although it seems like Dan and I's every thought is consumed with baby baby baby, we are still hoping that everyone reading this is doing well and enjoying the start of September. We would love to hear from all of you!

Family time

Dan and I have been so busy with different things. Our new nephew, Silas Barnes, has finally entered the world. So we made a quick trip to Topeka to introduce ourselves to him. School started for Dan and I'm still working on a fundraiser for work. And all the while, I'm growing a baby, which is tough work. Speaking of baby, we got the bedding for the crib in the mail this week and it is so cute. It's plain green and so so soft. I just know our baby will love it. Next on our list is to buy some furniture. We're slowly getting there. Anyway, here are some pictures of our most recent outings.

Camdyn needed some special attention too! We enjoyed getting to spend some quality time with her.
I just think this picture of Dan and Camdyn is so cute! She was having so much fun with him! She loves to look at pictures, so that's what they were doing together.
And for those of you who are interested, here are some pregnancy pictures. The first one is when I was almost 27 weeks along. And the next we just took today, at almost 28 weeks. So that's that.

Catch up time

A lot has been going on, but I'm mostly going to catch you all up through pictures because it's somewhat easier. Anyway, these first pics are of our trip to Denver. We had a great anniversary weekend by going to the zoo, going to the imax theater to see The Dark Knight, doing a little shopping, watching some random fireworks, and spending time in our fancy hotel.

Then this last weekend, I went home to help my mom with a garage sale and get rid of a few things myself. My sister ended up coming to visit on Saturday and we had a great time. I got to see my beautiful niece and nephew and spend some much needed time with my wonderful sister. Jordan even got to help Papa mow the yard.

So that's about it for now. We're hoping everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer as much as we are!

~Jordan and Dorian~

I wasn't going to update until next week, but I got these pictures from my sister and I just have to say that my niece and nephew are just about the cutest kids I've ever seen! Dorian is two months old now and Jordan baked him a cake on her easy bake oven to celebrate. I thought that was so cute. Jordan is getting ready to go into 3rd grade, which is hard for me and my sister both to imagine. She's turning into a little woman. They're both growing up so fast!

This is very random, but I just have to say that I have been truly blessed this summer by several relationships. First, my best friend, who is a constant source of calmness in what feels like an otherwise chaotic world. Second, a friend who I have been reconnected with this summer, who is genuine, supportive, and inspiring. I love our phone dates, *A*! And then there's my sister, who has been there for me this summer in a way that I was not expecting, but am so grateful for. And of course, there's my husband, who is amazing and loves me unconditionally, which you would think would not be that hard, but I'm sure it is. :)

2nd birthday and baby shower

I'm a little late getting this blog posted, but this week has been kind of busy. But this last weekend was Camdyn's 2nd birthday and I'm pretty sure she had a great time. She helped make and decorate her own princess cake, which you can see her eating in these pictures and she got a lot of cool presents every two year old would want! Dan and I had a fun time watching her have fun!

Then Sunday was Sarah's baby shower for her son who is due to arrive in the next few weeks! We're all very excited for a boy in the family. So here are a few pictures from that.

I just have to say that technology and I have not been on good terms lately. I have been having the hardest time getting these pictures to work today and now for some reason everything is being underlined. Oh well.

In other news, Dan is getting closer and closer to the first days of school and has been getting prepared for that. I have been busy with work and am entering the 23rd week of pregnancy, which is exciting! Dan and I will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary in Colorado in a week. We don't really have much going on until then, which I have to say is kind of a nice change of pace compared to all the going, going, going. We will enjoy the much needed down time and update after our trip to Colorado!

Good to be home

Well, we survived the long drive to Minnesota for the family reunion! We actually had a great time. It was relaxing and we did a lot of fun things! The picture below is of the fireworks we watched from the paddle boat on the river. It was such a perfect night for a boat ride as well as for fireworks!

These next couple of pictures are at the Mall of America. It is huge! We spent almost an entire day there and we probably could have spent tons more time there just looking at everything. Both Terry and Dan were glad to get out of there and eventually I was too!The picture above is me drinking my caribou coffee drink. It was pricey, but delicious. There's a caribou coffee on just about every corner in Minnesota. The picture below is of Terry and Dan standing on third floor of the mall in front of the roller coasters. Debi rode one ride with Dan's cousin, who came with us and Terry rode one ride with a different cousin who was also there. We had fun watching!

Here's Dan in front of the entrance to the "Great Mall." I was wishing that my sister in law was with me, because Sarah would have loved this mall! She loves to shop!
Dan and I are standing in front of the giant Bloomingdales store, but we are just little dots because Debi had to stand all the way across the street to get the store sign in the picture! That's how big it is! P.S. I definitely could not afford anything in Bloomingdales, not even the stuff on sale!

Here's Debi, me, Uncle Jack, Jayden, and a distant cousin, Emma on the boat ride.Me and Dan enjoying our boat ride. It was kind of nice to do something different for the 4th of July!

Overall, we had a great time, but we were definitely glad when we got back home. We are going to be doing some more traveling in July to Topeka again this weekend and then to Colorado in a couple of weeks for our 3rd anniversary! So there should be lots of fun pictures coming soon!
